After suffering its first defeat in the ongoing Nagaland Super League (NSL) on Saturday, league leader Barak FC bounced back to secure a 2-1 victory over Red Scars FC in Matchday 15 at the Chümoukedima Football Stadium on March 19.
Barak FC opened the scoring before the break and doubled its lead in the 68th minute. Red Scars FC managed to pull one back in injury time but fell short of an equalizer.
At the Indira Gandhi Stadium in Kohima, Frontier Warriors FC were leading 2-1 against 27 United FC until the 86th minute.
However, 27 United FC found an equaliser and then sealed the match with a goal in extra time, securing a 3-2 victory.
In another match, Sechü Zubza FC took an early lead in the ninth minute against Longterok FC and held on to the advantage until the final whistle, securing a 1-0 win.
With this victory, Barak FC solidified its lead at the top of the NSL standings, moving up to 29 points, while second-placed Nagaland United Sports Club (NUSC) trail behind with 21 points.
After failing to replicate their previous success in defeating the league leader, Longterok FC missed the chance to overtake NUSC and remained in third place with 20 points.
