NSLSA opens stall at Hornbill festival

  Kohima, December 5 (MExN): Nagaland State Legal Services Authority (NSLSA) opened Legal Services stall at the Hornbill Festival, Kisama for the 5th time in a row for the purpose of spreading legal awareness for the general public and to provide free legal aid to the downtrodden and the weaker section of the society.   The stall was inaugurated by Justice Sharad Arvind Bobde Judge, Supreme Court. In his inaugural address he encouraged the NSLSA to continue the good work of reaching out to the poor and needy. He was accompanied by Justice AS Bopanna, Chief Justice, Guahati High Court & Patron-In-Chief, NSLSA, Justice, Ajit Singh Chief Justice Guahati High Court (Rtd), Justice A K Goswami, Justice N Kotiswar Singh, Judge, Gauhati High Court & Executive Chairman, NSLSA, Justice Ujjal Bhuyan Judge Gauhati High Court, Justice Rakesh Ranjan Prasad, Chief Justice, Manipur High Court, Justice L S Jamir, Judge Manipur High Court and Nagaland Judicial Officers.   The stall is manned by Coordinators and Panel Lawyers of NSLSA, Panel Lawyers KDLSA, Para Legal Volunteers of NSLSA and students of Kohima Law College. Some of the activities carried out in the stall are distribution of pamphlets, booklets, providing free legal counseling, preparing affidavits and drafting of applications free of cost. The Hornbill Festival is a very big platform where we can reach out to all different sections of people which includes the local tourists, domestic tourists and international tourists, stated a press release.   The stall has been witnessing a lot of Advocates from various states of the country.
