NSLSA to provide legal services at Hornbill Festival 2024

KOHIMA, NOVEMBER 29 (MExN): Gauhati High Court, Kohima Bench, Judge, Justice Budi Habung inaugurated Legal Services Stall of the Nagaland State Legal Services Authority (NSLSA) for the 25th Edition of Hornbill Festival at Naga Heritage Village in Kisama. 

The Judge after cutting the ribbon expressed optimism that the stall will provide its line of services to people in need of Legal assistance. He said a stretch of 10 days is quite sufficient to dispense awareness and activities and also called out panel lawyers to volunteer in giving out legal literature apart from catering to services at the Stall. 

Justice Habung also suggested legal services to extend its hand in services such as court marriages and other procedures which can be helpful to access for festival goers. 

NSLSA Member Secretary, Neiko Akami highlighted the activities and services to be provided as part of the yearly edition. 

At the Legal Services Stall, one can avail various legal services for free. Affidavits will be filed, advices for legal Aids and representation, Legal Literature and booklets, Legal counselling and advices among others can be availed. Apart from that panel lawyers from State and District Legal Services Authority will be 

N Longshithung Ezung, NJS and Chief Judicial Magistrate and Secretary Kohima DLSA Phuleto Yeptho, NJS. He initiated the ribbon cutting and students from Kohima Law College presented a street play on Domestic violence.

The panel lawyers from state legal and District Legal Services Authority will be manning the Legal Services Stall during the 10 days edition.
