NSRA to hold state’s shooting C'ship in February

Dimapur, January 30 (MExN): The Governing Body Board Members, of Nagaland State Rifle Association (NSRA) in its meeting held on November 3, 2010, has decided to hold the 13th Nagaland State Rifle (Open/Peep sight) & Pistol Shooting Championship 2011 in the third week of February 2011.  The NSRA in a press note issued by its honorary secretary J. I. Yaden stated that the Nagaland Police Rifle Club has agreed to host and conduct the State’s Shooting Meet 2011 at the Nagaland Armed Police Training Centre (NAPTC) Firing Range, Chumukedima. It also stated that no participants will be allowed direct entry to the Shooting Meet unless sponsored by their respective Rifle Clubs affiliated to the NSRA. All Rifle Clubs are informed to conduct the shooting competition on their own and only those person/s attaining a minimum score of 60% and above will be allowed to participate in the Nagaland State Rifle (Open/Peep sight) & Pistol Shooting Championship 2011 in the following categories – .177 Air pistol - 10 Mtrs, .177 Air rifle Peep Sight - 10Mtrs, .177 Air Rifle Open Sight - 10Mtrs, .22 Prone Rifle Peep sight - 10 Mtrs, .22 Prone Rifle Open Sight - 50 Mtrs, .22 Rifle Open Sight (3 Positions) - 50 Mtrs, Pistol/Revolver (.22/.32) - 25 Mtrs and .22 Prone Rifle open Sight (Master Category) - 50 Mtrs. Costs of arrangements will have to be borne by the individual Rifle Clubs conducting such meet at the district level etc. Shooters taking part in peep sight category will not be allowed to participate in the open sight category. Shooters who have participated in the All India G.V. Mavlankar Shooting Championship 2010 will be allowed direct entry in the competition, subject to sponsorship by their respective clubs. Not more than two competitors will be allowed to share weapons. Such weapons must adhere to the specifications and bore as laid down by the NRAI Matchbook 2007 for use in the National Shooting Competitions, the note informed. Further it said that results of the competitions held by the respective clubs should be furnished to the Secretary NSRA latest by February 17th February 2011 by FAX (0370-2271449) for issue of entry forms etc. to the 13th Nagaland State Rifle (Open/Peep sight) & Pistol Shooting Championship 2011.
