Dimapur, March 24 (MExN): The National Service Scheme (NSS) Cell volunteers of Pranabananda Women’s College (PWC) along with their Programme Officer, Ulla Laureen Fernandez visited and interacted with Dimapur District Two-Wheeler Taxi Association (DDTWTA) on March 23. 

During the same, the team gave gift hampers to the female taxi riders show appreciation and encourage the choice of profession as well as convey that they are empowering young women of the society by setting standards for young women,, a PWC release informed. 

During the interactions it was learnt that there are six female riders Ngapnon Konyak, Nyemen Konyak, Chubasenla, Teihai, Sentinaro and Nino Konsam amongst 193 riders in Dimapur, it added. 

They ridersare available at different junctions like Dhobinala, City Tower, Bata Charali and Supermarket from 9AM-7PM, it added. 

The PWC’s NSS Cell also expressed gratitude DDTWTA General Secretary Honko Konyak, for arranging the meeting and also conveyed hope to witness more women riders in the future .
