NSSA suspends agitation sine dine

Kohima, January 22 (MExN): Nagaland Secretariat Service Association (NSSA) has suspended its agitation sine dine. This was resolved during the NSSA General Body Meeting held on January 21 in the Secretariat Conference Hall here.

A press release issued by NSSA assistant secretary Kitto Swu and its president Imti Longchari informed that the meeting reviewed the partial fulfillment of its charter of demands by the Government and deliberated on the further course of action required with respect to the remaining unfulfilled demands.

The House, according to the note, unanimously appreciated and thanked the Government for its sincerity in fulfilling the core demands of the Association – Issuance of promotion order, and creation/restoration of NSSA cadre posts phase-wise within the stipulated dateline.

The House also took note of the sincerity and active process the Government is undertaking to resolve the remaining two issues – Framing of guidelines for deputationists, and streamlining of Planning Department and Law Department. In this regard, the Association noted that the remaining issues are matters that involve other sister Associations of the Nagaland Secretariat: the IAS and the NCS. And hence the matter needs to be pursued jointly with the two sister Associations, the release said.
