NSSATA to continue pen down strike

Kohima, May 5 (MExN): The Nagaland Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan Teachers’ Association (NSSATA) of 2010 & 2013 has decided to continue with the pen down strike till further notice. According to a statement, the association had met the Chief Secretary and Principal Secretary on May 3 in the conference hall of Secretariat, Kohima and put forth the points regarding the mode of advertisement, appointment, and RTI application in support of its ultimatum served on April 23. “However, both the Chief Secretary and Principal Secretary could neither produce any solution and assurance from their end. So, the association is left with no choice but to continue with pen down strike till further notice,” the statement from NSSATA president, Penthungo Y Yanthan and general secretary, Vinoka Sohe added. Meanwhile, the association has directed all its members to strictly adhere to the resolution passed. It also expressed regret for the inconvenience caused to the general public and the students’ community, and appealed for support from all right thinking citizens and organizations.
