NSSATA Mon unit affirms decision to boycott classes

Mon, October 14 (MExN): The Mon unit of Nagaland Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan Teachers’ Association (NSSATA) has reaffirmed the Central NSSATA’s decision to boycott the classes once the deadline of the association’s ultimatum to the government expires. A press statement from NSSATA Mon unit general secretary, Joseph Yomet expressed sadness for teachers to boycott classes, however, it pointed out the teachers’ inability to manage their daily affairs and needs without being paid for five months. The NSSATA Mon unit urged the department concerned to take serious note of the problems faced by the teachers. Expressing support to the Central NSSATA, the unit also appealed to different NGOs to support and address the genuine demands considering the plight of the teachers and the students.
