Dear Government of Nagaland,
You have finally fulfilled the wishes & dreams of thousands of students by forming the NSSB which should have been done decades back. Better late than Never. We hope meritorious candidates will get an opportunity to prove themselves and the government of Nagaland will get the brightest and most talented deserving candidates to serve the people with sincerity, dedication and hard work.
Why should Nagaland be always famous only for the wrong reasons?
Being one of the first state in the North East to have got it statehood 59 years ago we should have been a trend setter and should have left other NE states far behind in all the sectors, be it Education, Roads & Bridges infrastructure, Electricity, water, Agriculture ,horticulture Health & medical, sports, stadiums etc. BUT, we all know where we stand today. We hope the present Oppositionless government delivers and not hold another useless record for being the only oppositionless state government in India. So much for party loyalty and integrity for the opposition.
Give us good all weather roads connecting all districts of Nagaland, And we will find a way for our survival.
Give us good electricity (not exorbitant prepaid tariff rates), establish sports stadiums for various sports discipline in all districts, we will earn by ourselves and not depend on you for the jobs.
We hang our heads in shame when our friends from Mizoram tell us that they have Astroturf football stadium in all districts in Mizoram. Nagaland proudly and triumph fully inaugurated one couple of years back in Kohima which allegedly charges exorbitant rates for matches. Can a budding football talent even set a foot on it??? Let alone practice and play. Lack of discipline, dedication and focus cannot be the only reason for our dismal performance at the national level both in team as well as individual category be it football, boxing, badminton, TT, cricket, hockey, Archery etc.
Amidst the present gloomy condition of Nagaland in all spheres, the only silver lining for the students is the forming of NSSB.
Kohima thought capital need not necessarily have all the important offices located there. All districts should be equally developed. Appearing for NPSC in Kohima every year is a herculean task for thousands of students in terms of finding a cheap rent/accommodations, affordable hotels, water scarcity, traffic jams, lack of cheap & fast mode of transportation, inter district communication problems etc many students are not fortunate enough to have relatives or friends in Kohima or have enough cash to afford the kinds of hotels in Kohima. Due to the above reasons, Many students usually travel from Dimapur to Kohima on the day of the exam and fall back the same day which continues till the end of the exams which is not only stressful but is also expensive. There are many instances where the NPSC aspirants are late for their exams due to the traffic jams. The number of students who will be sitting for NSSB exams will definitely be many times more than that of NPSC; hence we urge the government to keep these issues which the aspirants face in mind while setting up the office, for the welfare of the students apart from just forming the NSSB.
For the common good of the aspiring candidates, we urge the government of Nagaland to have the office of the NSSB in Chümoukedima DC office Complex which will be centrally located for all. Such huge and magnificent building deserves to have prestigious office like NSSB.
Chümoukedima DC Office complex is the perfect place for having the office of NSSB for all aspiring candidates in terms of location, accommodation, transportation and communication and it is also closely located to Kohima as well. All the inconveniences which the aspirant faces in terms of cheap transportation mode (auto, rickshaw, two wheeler taxi) accommodations (cheap affordable hotels, PG’s, house rents) water scarcity, traffic jams etc in Kohima will be solved if the office is located in Chümoukedima DC office complex. It will also be very convenient as Dimapur is well connected and has good inter district transportation systems by sumo/buses/winger etc. Aspiring students arriving from other parts of India will also find it convenient as Dimapur is connected by Railway, Airway and roadway and they do not have to undertake further stressful journey ahead.
Keeping all the above factors in mind we request the Government of Nagaland to kindly have the newly formed Nagaland service selection Board (NSSB) located at DC Office complex Chümoukedima for the welfare of all the aspiring candidates.
