Cautions against practice of proxy and transfer with post

Zunheboto, August 9 (MExN): The Northern Sumi Students’ Union (NSSU) conducted inspection of government educational institutions within the Northern Sumi jurisdiction, as a part of its educational tour phase-1 from August 5 to 8.

“The inspection was carried out to observe on the functioning and developmental activities and infrastructure progress of the service provided by the government,” NSSU President and the General Secretary stated in a press release. During the tour, the Union stated that it found “absence of teachers in all the primary schools and felt displeasure over the poor academic performance of the students.”

The Union visited Primary School of Akuhaiqa Village; Khakuthato village, Shihaphumi Village; Atupu Village; Sumito Village; Zuxushe Village.

Government Middle School, Puneboto along with private institutions like King David School under NSBAK (Nito Mount) located at Mission Centre Aqakito; Delino School under NSBAK (Aizuto) located at Mission Centre Puneboto and Spring Buds Orphanage School located at Shihaphumi Village were also visited as a part of the tour.

NSSU Secretary P Samuel Chophy stated that “due to deteriorated bad road condition the Union could not visit all the villages.” He assured that the Union will cover up the remaining villages during its phase- II tour.

Meanwhile, NSSU President Puloto G Awomi asserted that the Union under the theme “Mission Doing Right,” has conducted meetings with VEC, GBs, Council Chairman, Teachers in charge and teaching faculties.

“The objective of the Union was to address on the issue of proxy teachers and appeal to the state government to ban teacher’s transfer with post under Northern Sumi Inhabitant circle,” he maintained.

The NSSU further reminded all the concerned government teachers under its jurisdiction “to be regular and to be stationed in their respective posted village.”

“If any teachers are found guilty of proxy and transfer with post without the consent of the village authority and NSSU, the Union shall take its own course of action as per the Union constitution,” the Union cautioned.
