NStCB Ltd officials with participants of “Financial & Digital Literacy Camp at Weziho on May 29.

Kohima, June 2 (MExN): As part of financial and credit consultancy, the Nagaland State Co-operative Bank Ltd (NStCB) organized Financial and Digital Literacy Camp at Weziho and Phokhungri village under Meluri Sub division of Phek district on May 29 and 30 respectively.
The banking activities and facilities available with NStCB Ltd, have been briefed to the villagers during the camp.
S.Kevi Hibo, Branch Manager, NStCB Ltd Phek branch informed that the NStCB Phek branch, which opened in 1985, has been rendering its banking service to the rural farmers particularly the Chakhesang community for the past 37 years and 55 years of banking service to the state of Nagaland in general.
Hibo highlighted various loan facilities available with the bank and called for opening of various types of accounts with NStCB.
Touching on digital & online banking, he said that within a short span of time, everything will be digitalized, cashless and paperless.
We will have no option but to follow it, he said.
The rural farmers have been encouraged to come under the umbrella of banking service in order to avoid explosive private money lenders. Various types of loan available with the bank have been thoroughly discussed with the members present.
‘Utilize loan well’
Kekhwengulo Lea, Vice Chairman, NStCB Ltd, spoke about the planning of income & expenditure for the individual as well as family, which is the key to uplift the economy of a person in particular and to boost the social economy in general.
Lea told the people to utilize the loan well its purpose, adding that repayment should be strictly made in order to earn a good reputation with the financial institutions.
Jonah Sema, GM (Admin & Vigil) NStCB Ltd spoke on the importance of post matric scholarship & insurance schemes- PMSBY, PMABY & PMFBY which is the lowest insurance premium in the world. He highlighted the schemes, which can be accessed from NStCB branches in Nagaland. He also stressed on the need to cultivate the habit of savings.
Various types of deposits, interest rates and duration were also discussed at the camp. During interactive session, resource persons cleared the doubts and queries raised by the participants. The camp was attended by around 40 villagers.
Meanwhile, the participants lauded NStCB Ltd for organizing the camp.
