NStCB Ltd conduct Financial Literacy Prog at Mima village

Kohima, November 3 (MExN): The Nagaland State Co-operative Bank Ltd Kohima Main Branch organized Financial Literacy Programme on October 28 at Mima village. The programme is supported by FIF and Managed by NABARD. The programme was chaired by S. Kevi Hibo Asst. BM & I/C Nodal centre Kohima while Zhathose Keyie GB said the invocation and the Village Council Chairman Neichüzo Keyie delivered welcome address respectively.  

S. Kevi Hibo Asst. BM & I/C Nodal centre Kohima in his key note address highlighted  the significant role played by NStCB Ltd specially for the rural poor farmers, Hibo also request the rural farmers & the participants to approach the Bank and   avail credit facilities available in the Bank with positive attitude of repaying the loans, instead of borrowing from  the informal money lenders.  

The concept and the important of launching of financial literacy programme was introduced by the GOI since majority of the India population are rural farmers who are financially excluded, therefore in order to boost their living economy and uplift the BPL clusters the programme was launched so that the rural farmers can be financially included and reach out to the unreached by way of conducting financial literacy camps in the rural areas who are deprived of banking knowledge. Hibo also elaborated on the important of social security schemes such as PMJJBY, PMSBY, PMFSY, APY & and opening of various types of accounts, small savings methods, curtailing of expenditures. AGM NABARD Bendang Aier briefed the house that the public should know the government schemes & programme that are available in the Departments, without which we can neither approach nor demand the facilities available for the public, Aier also spoke on “public participation in promoting integrity and eradicating corruption “which is the theme of vigilance awareness week 2016.  

Aier also shared on judicious utilization of loans and prompt recovery of loan in the specific time frame, he appeal the Villagers and the public in general to rendered their best services to the Banks so that the Banks can also serve the public better as the Banks are there for the welfare of the area people.  

In the interactive session S. Kevi Hibo discussed about the formation of SHG, JLG & KCC Loan and seeding of Aadhaar Number in the accounts as the benefits entitled can be directly transfer to their accounts.

 A press release said that the programme culminated with vote thanks pronounced by GB Vimese. The programme was attended by hundreds of villagers, while 164 saving accounts were source out on the spot.
