NSU affirms support to good road connectivity campaign in Tening

Peren, May 31 (MExN): The Ntu Students' Union (NSU) today extended its full support and cooperation towards the campaign for good road connectivity as initiated by the student bodies under Tening sub-division, Peren.

NSU, Ntu Village stand firm in this campaign and urges the state government to promptly and honestly make use of the appropriated funds and settle the debt it owes to the people, affirmed a press release from NSU President Maihilabo Pamay and the General Secretary.

It is an established fact that good road connectivity is essential to bring about any further development, boosts livelihoods and provide for any commercial activity which in turn enhances the economy of not only the affected region but the entire state, it said.

Bad road connectivity not only affects people economically but also endangers them with maximum risks of accidents, it added.

The NSU further pointed out the student community is most affected by the negligence and the failure of the state government to uphold its obligations is putting the future of the society at ‘great risk.’

“There is no excuse for such failure and the students' body will relentlessly fight for this cause and ensure not only its execution but quality to its finest,” it said.

The NSU looks to its like-minded associates to continue to stand united and move forward with a common goal to bring prosperity in the region one step at a time, the union added.

It must be noted here that from May 11, students’ unions and youth organizations based under Tening Area, Peren have launched a banner and poster media campaign to show their indignation against the State government’s lackadaisical approach and non-provision of funds for black-topping the 52-km stretch of the State Highway from Peren to Tening, which has been left unattended to since 1984.

While a rally/protest could not be organized due to the rising COVID-19 cases, they informed that they would continue their campaign until the State government listens and dispenses justice and cautioned the latter not test their ‘level of patience.’
