DIMAPUR, MAY 18 (MExN): The Noksen Students’ Union (NSU) has expressed its dissatisfaction on the poor infrastructure and development at Government Primary School (GPS) and Government High School (GHS) Noksen.
A press release from the NSU informed that it conducted a surprise visit to the schools within its jurisdiction on April 28.
While it appreciated the dedication and sincerity of the school management and the teachers for the upliftment of the school, the NSU informed that the school building foundation is poor risking the life of students in collapse. The team also detected numerous anomalies after interacting with the teaching staff, SMC and students of the schools.
For the last 10 years, it said that the schools were functioning without Hindi subject teacher. The union also stated that the students faced problems even to the extent of sitting for an exam without the concerned subject teachers which has created difficulty not only to the students but teachers as well. The union said it will not tolerate and bow in any manner for transferring of teachers by the department without replacement against such post within its jurisdiction.
The NSU meanwhile demanded for a full-fledged Head Master who can be physically present in the school (GHS Noksen). Citing the need for proper administrative functioning, well-qualified and comprehensive teachers in any educational institution, the NSU said it will not compromise until this matter is taken into serious consideration.
