NSU reminds government on plight of GHS Noksen

School functioning without headmaster for over 5 years

Tuensang, December 20 (MExN): The Noksen Students Union (NSU) on Sunday reiterated its demand concerning the appointment of a headmaster for Government High School, Noksen.

In its letter to the Principal Director, School Education, the NSU stated that GHS Noksen, despite being one of the oldest schools under Tuensang district, the situation and administration of the school are in a “pathetic condition.”

It sought to bring to the department’s notice that the institution is functioning without the Head Master and Assistant Head Master for more than 5 years. The teacher in-charge is taking charge of school for so many years, it stated.

Even after several appeals to the department, The Union said that the government turned a ‘deaf ear’ to its demand. In this regard, the Union reiterated its demand for a full fledged Head Master “who can be physically present in the school before the next academic year.”

Th Union highlighted its earlier representation on September 19, 2019 and memorandum submitted on March 13, 2020 for the same and added that the concerned authority failed to address the matter.

Expressing deep resentment, the NSU asserted that there would be ‘no compromise’ until the matter is taken into serious consideration.

The Union appealed to the Principal Director for immediate redressal and expressed hope that the concerned department would look into the matter with utmost urgency, as the future of the students are at stake.
