NSUC condemns Feb 14 assault on NSF executives

Chandel, February 19 (MExN): The Naga Students’ Union Chamdil (Chandel) has vehemently condemned the assault on executive members of the Naga Students’ Federation by Manipur Police Commandos.   Manipur Police Commandos roughed up a team of NSF members on the morning of February 14, intimidating them, threatening them with physical assault and verbally abusing them for travelling through Imphal. The NSF delegates were on their way to attend the Lui-Ngai-Ni 2016 program in Ukhrul.

  This misconduct by men in uniform is a testimony of their true colour and shows that the Manipur Police Commandos have become terror elements for the public in their day to day life, a press release from the NSUC maintained.   Demanding the Manipur government to reign upon those involved and ensure that justice is delivered, the union warned that it will take up democratic action if their demand goes unheeded.
