DIMAPUR, AUG 5 (MExN): The National Students Union of India (NSUI) Nagaland State stated that it was aggrieved to come across the recent controversy of JEE for MBBS course, wherein the Minister for School Education, IT & Technical Education, Imkong L Imchen had, the body said, not only disgraced the prestigious chair of the Chairman of JEE Selection Board but also abused his power as a responsible minister.
“It is astonishing that Imkong being an elected peoples’ representatives who is under constitutional oath to serve the people, should exercise such arbitrary action so as to do gross injustice by denying the deserving meritorious students of their rightful seat allotments to other two unqualified candidates, thereby infringing upon the acceptable norms of competition and selection process and causing such mental agony and torment to the deserving candidates and also to the students’ community as a whole”, stated Pfuche Koza General Secretary, (Admn.) NSUI, Nagaland and Lawrence Humtsoe, Press Secretary. The NSUI urged the Government to seriously listen to the hues and cries of the people and take prompt action in delivering justice.
“The DAN Government should also maintain in letter and in spirit of its promise to the people, to provide corruption free governance and do justice to the people as stated in the ‘ Common Minimum Programme’ of the DAN policy,” the NSUI reminded.
“As such the Minister’s abusive exercise of power and infringement of other’s right is of serious concern and deserves no moral right to remain in the office. But should be sacked from the Ministry thereby delivering justice to the people”, the NSUI stated.
