
DIMAPUR, JULY 4 (MExN): The Nagaland Tribes Council (NTC) has resolved to urge the Government of India (GoI) for resolution of the protracted Naga political issue before Nagaland General Assembly Election 2023. This was resolved during a consultative meeting with the eight tribe hohos at Kohima on June 30. The meeting deliberated issues pertaining to strengthening NTC; and current Naga political situation vis-à-vis ongoing Naga Peace Process and, if so demands, to organize peacefully rally for early solution.
The house resolved to strengthen the Nagaland Tribes Council (NTC) to carry forward the issues to be addressed. It further resolved that the constituent tribes whichever have not yet nominated the required strength of the Council members are to submit the full strength of members within July 15. It meanwhile extended support to the Nagaland People’s Action Committee (NPAC) formed by Tribal and Civil Society Organisations of Nagaland on June 21 under the initiative of Nagaland GB Federation (NGBF). Further, the NTC resolved to support the 14 Tribes resolution to only attend any meeting of Naga Political Groups (NPGs) jointly with all Naga tribal organisations but not tribe-wise separately.
