Dimapur, February 4 (MExN): The Nagaland Tribal Council (NTC) has vehemently condemned “heinous crime and the cold blood murder” of Charlie Hangsing, who was shot dead some by unidentified miscreants at Dimapur on February 2.
Lamenting and decrying loss of a ‘young and promising entrepreneur,’ NTC in a condemnation note issued by its Media Cell, stated that, "Whatever may be the reasons or situation for such extreme step, no one have the right to take away life and it called for the strongest condemnation from all peace loving citizens."
The NTC further urged the state Government to "investigate and hunt the culprits" to bring them before the law for exemplary punishment. The Council also conveyed its heartfelt condolence to the bereaved family.
Meanwhile, NTC also condemned the ‘shocking incident’ whereby a differently-abled minor girl was raped by police personnel Isaac Semy at Kohima on January 30.
“The shameless crime committed by trained police personnel whose job is to enforce law and order and protect the citizens is disgustingly shocking and had sent serious warning to the conscious citizens,” the NTC stated. The NTC further appealed the concern authority to award befitting punishment to the culprit and sent a "strong deterrent to prevent recurrence of such despicable crime in our society."
