
Dimapur, April 14 (MExN): The Nagaland Tribes Council (NTC) has expressed dismay at “the most brutal action of the culprit who attempted the life of Abe Mero, a dynamic lady committed for social justice and a member of ACAUT, Nagaland” on April 9, 2014 at Jail Colony, Kohima.
The NTC, in a press release issued by its secretary I&P Theja Therieh and acting president Lendinoktang Ao has urged the authorities concerned to gear up and immediately arrest the culprit and award befitting punishment as per law to prevent such recurrence in future.
It also appreciated the courage and prompt action of Abe Mero for timely filing of the First Information Report (FIR) at the police station and bringing the matter before the State law enforcing agency for necessary action to deliver justice to innocent citizens. “Every sensible citizen must rise to the occasion and fight against such evil forces attempting the life and security of the peace loving citizens,” it asserted.
The NTC condemned the incident and expressed commitment to pursue the matter till the accused is punished and also urged all authorities concerned not to show fear or favor, but make all its citizens accountable before law so that peace and security prevail in the society.
