Kohima, May 14 (MExN): The Nagaland Tribes Council (NTC) on May 14 welcomed the returnees from other states and conveyed good wishes to those who chose not to return.
In its press release, the NTC stated that ultimate effect of the global pandemic and the subsequent lockdown is on the stranded people all over the country, and Nagaland is no exception to it.
Appreciating the government’s arrangements to bring back over 18000 stranded people from various parts of the country, the NTC expressed concerns about those who were returning to the state after having lost their jobs.
Nagaland state has no capacity to accommodate them, the NTC stated. “There is no company or private firm as sufficient to employ them,” the NTC said in its press release.
It added that the government is yet to establish major companies or at least come up with private/PSU facilities “so that our own educated youths gets more employment opportunity and that problems at home and in the society is put to rest.” NTC urged the state government to immediately come up with “promising entrepreneur related establishment development programmes in the state,” making use of the current situation, so as to solve the unemployment problem.
