NTC meeting resolves on issues

KOHIMA, APRIL 5 (MExN): The Nagaland Tribes Council (NTC), following its General Council on April 5, has resolved to “approve the proposal of the Executive Council to organise a seminar on Land and its Natural resources with special reference to the Article 371A and the existing laws on Transfer of Land etc.” This was informed through a press statement from acting president of NTC, Lendinoktang Ao, and its general secretary, Nribemo Ngullie.

The NTC has also resolved to approve the recommendations of the Executive Council to constitute a Committee to study the impact of RTE Act and its implementation in the State of Nagaland and a Committee on Border Affairs and Relationship with neighbouring states. It also approved formation of a study group on Border affairs, Relationship with neighbouring states and inter-tribal relationship. Having reviewed the “ongoing issue on Recognition of Rongmei Tribe in the State of Nagaland,” the General Council of the NTC resolved to “take the matter to general public in the form of Public Rally to take public endorsement on the matter.” For this, it resolved to hold a public rally at Dimapur in consultation with ENPO and citizens of Dimapur District. The NTC’s 2nd General Council meeting was held at AIDA Conference Hall, Dimapur on April 5 at 10 am.
