Urges to show up at the proposed hunger strike
Wokha, December 14 (MExN): The Nagaland Tribes Council (NTC) has expressed support to the three demands of the Public Coordination Committee (PCC) – revocation of October 26 OM that scrapped Grade III posts from the purview of Nagaland Public Service Commission (NPSC); setting up Lokayukta as per the demands of ACAUT; declaring answer keys in all stages of exams conducted by NPSC
“These are legitimate and just demand for the benefit of all Nagas and the coming generation. The government must meet these core demands if it is serious about good governance, transparency and fighting corruption,” asserted a statement from NTC Media Cell.
The PCC had in a press release issued on December 13 warned that it will go on a hunger strike at the Nagaland Legislative Assembly complex from December 15 if the government does not meet its core demands on December 14 and subsequently declare the actions taken in the local dailies on December 15. The press release from PCC Media Cell further appealed to all the right-thinking citizens of Nagaland to volunteer and show solidarity in this “fight for equal opportunity and meritocracy; and against corruption, nepotism and injustice.”
The NTC in its statement also urged all the right-thinking citizens of Nagaland to physically show up and express solidarity as “this fight concerns the future of all Nagas.”
