Dimapur, June 6 (MExN): The Nagaland Transparency, Public Rights Advocacy and Direct Action Organisation (NTPRADAO) today expressed disappointment over what it alleged as 'pick and choose' attitude of the Deputy and Additional Deputy Commissioner over an issue concerning the Right to Information (RTI) application.
According to the organisation, on June 6, it sent two of its office-bearers for getting RTI forward from the office of DC, Dimapur. However, the ADC/PIO signed and forwarded just 2 out of 5 RTI applications and the former after discussing with the DC, refused to further streamline the others, the NTPRADAO alleged.
“It is a case of 'pick and choose' attitude of the duo,” maintained a press release from the NTPRADAO.
As officially the first citizen for all Dimapurians, it is imperative that the DC Dimapur ‘help-out and hand- held the needy general public’ who approaches the office for genuine causes, it maintained.
‘Forwarding a RTI application to the concern departments is normally a routine matter and the DC and ADC have failed in their duties to address 'public good and expectations,’ the NTPRADAO added in the release issued by its General Secretary Zuchamo Patton and Secretary, Phemching Konyak.
