Dimapur, January 18 (MExN): The 5th conference of the Ntulun Aruang (Ntu citizens) on January 6 concluded with conviction that unity, humility and endurance for truth could bestow God’s blessing on the people and the village. The conference witness confluence of officers, students and lay persons from other parts of the State. It was also marked by singing of the village anthem ‘Ntu luang’ and obituary reference in memory of 10 deceased members during 2010 by observing a minute silent prayer.
Addressing the gathering, Ntulun Aruang president and former Managing Director of Nagaland Handloom and Handicraft Corporation, Ringsanbo Madeliang, has encouraged students to inculcate work culture and be diligent in their studies. He has advised the students to be helpful to parents and learn to earn for personal expenses without depending on their parents even as they pursue their studies. The president has also encouraged both students and farmers to work hard and be self reliant.
Ntulun Aruang general secretary and Secretary Parliamentary Affairs, APC Cell, Benjamin Newmai has briefed on the past activities. Notably among are felicitations of HSLC toppers and NCS candidates. He concluded his remark by urging the people to foster unity in the days to come. N Silubo, Pastor Liangmai Baptist Church, Kohima, has also exhorted the gathering quoting reference from the Bible. He has further urged the students to be disciplined and respect their parents and elders.
Earlier, the conference began with invocation prayer said by Kinlabo Rentta, Pastor Tening Town Baptist Church. Besides, he has also exhorted the gathering wherein he implored the citizens to fear God in all their dealings. He has further urged to forgive misdeed of one another and work in unity if they so desire to reclaim the past fame of the village. Village Council chairman, Aningbo Kaurintah, in his welcome address, has thanked officials who have labored hard to make the conference a success.
Later, a seminar on Economic Empowerment and Skill Development and Employment was conducted during the conference with Ringsanbo Madeliang and Neiba Newmai, Superintendent of Police (Vigilance) as the resource persons.
Meanwhile, it has elected new office bearers for the tenure 2011-13 with Neiba Newmai as president, K Aningbo Kaurinta as vice president, Volie Rentta as secretary, K Dinsubo as assistant secretary, Akengiu as treasurer, Dimunthin Newmai (Dimapur), Ratan Kaurintah (Kohima), Namdinbu (Jalukie Area), Newwangbo (Samziuram), Agabo (Peren/ Tening) and Mairiwibo (Ntu) as assistant treasurers.
