Way of expressing gratitude, says Nagaland Two Wheeler Taxi Association

Nagaland Two Wheeler Taxi Association’s riders in Kohima have decided to provide free ride to examinees appearing for the upcoming examination Lower Division Assistant (LDA) Examination under the Department of School Education on August 10. 


Riders will be available at PR Hill Junction, Razhu Point and High School Junction by 8:30 AM to offer rides to the aspirants.


"It is a small initiative we have decided to implement as a gesture of appreciation to the public, especially the youth, who stand and supported us during our effort to get recognition," the Association President, Chumben B Yanthan told The Morung Express on Friday. 


Two wheeler taxi services was recently legalised by the State Government.  


"As most of the aspirants are unemployed youth, we decided to help out in little possible way," Yanthan said, further conveying the association’s best wishes to the aspirants. 


Incidentally, out of current 49 members in NTWTA, he informed that some of its members are also sitting for the exam both in Kohima as well as their respective districts. 


"The remaining will try to give assistance as much as possible," Yanthan added. 


Meanwhile, NTWTA in a release also expressed its appreciation to every citizen who guided, supported and encouraged the association during the process to materialise two wheeler taxi services in Nagaland. 


It further acknowledged the Government of Nagaland “for seeing the importance of the two wheeler taxi service and also propagating youth employment.” 


The association also requested the Department of Transport for “assistance and guidance to ensure safe and quality operation of the service.” 


Meanwhile, informing that NTWTA was formed months back in Kohima and has been working  earnestly to legalise the service with an aim to work for matters related to two wheeler taxi in the capital and across the state, it asked others to join the association. 


Being the pioneer and the apex body, the NTWTA would like to request bonafide citizens from various districts interested in the service to consult and link up with the parent body, it noted. 


At the same time, the association also cautioned that “person with vested would be responsible for any untoward situation within the domain of two wheeler service in Nagaland” 


It also called of unity and coordination with individuals or public organisations to function smoothly and bring positive change as well as offering a convenient medium of transportation.
