Attendees of a national webinar on ‘Consumer Awareness’ organised by the Department of Law, Nagaland University, in collaboration with the Consumer Advocacy Group on October 9.

Lumami, October 9 (MExN): The Department of Law (DoL), Nagaland University, in collaboration with the Consumer Advocacy Group, organised a national webinar on “Consumer Awareness” on October 9, focusing on issues faced by consumers, especially in the new digital economy.
Dwelling on the issue, the resource person, Dr Rekha Singh of Sardar Patel University, pointed out that the 2020 e-commerce rule was brought in to address these concerns.
Meanwhile, Prof Rajesh Jampala of Siddharth College of Arts & Science, Vijayawada, discussed consumer challenges in the new digital economy and advocated for a healthy, sustainable lifestyle, noting that recent e-commerce issues like dark patterns are major challenges.
Speaking on adulteration of food and medical malpractices, Prof SC Roy of Chanakya National Law University (CNLU), Patna, stressed on starting a mass awareness campaign on consumer rights and proposed a ‘consumer watch’ initiative.
The sessions were moderated by Dr Sentikumla and concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr Kuldeep Singh Panwar.
Earlier, Prof MK Sinha, Senior Professor and Vice-Chancellor (In-charge), NU, graced the event, while DoL Head of Department, Dr Kuldeep Singh Panwar, welcomed the attendees and resource persons. Dr PVVS. Murthy, founder of the Consumer Advocacy Group, highlighted the purpose of the seminar.
