
Lumami, September 11 (MExN): Nagaland University (NU) celebrated its 23rd Foundation Day on September 6 at its headquarters Lumami with Vice-Chancellor Prof. BK Konwar as the Guest of Honour.
In his speech, Prof. Konwar stated we cannot claim to have achieved the goal of higher education if it has not benefitted society.
Short speeches were also delivered by the Presidents of Nagaland University Teachers Association, Nagaland University Non-Teaching Staff Association, and Nagaland University Students Union (Lumami).
Through the dynamic leadership of the Vice-Chancellor and dedication of all stakeholders, the University has grown in many ways, according to a press release from PRO, Nagaland University, Lumami HQ. It was accredited ‘B’ grade by NAAC from the earlier ‘C’ grade.
On the occasion, Meritorious Staff Awards were also given to the following ten Multi-Tasking Staff: HQ: Lumami – Heto Phom, Y. Iheshe, Thinosalie Angami; Kohima Campus – Nungsashiba, Sasiekuo Chakrunuo, Imdangjungla; SASRD Campus – Kewengupe, Dielete-U, Tej Bahadur; NU-SET Campus – Kulungding Zeliang.
Meanwhile, two books published by the University were released by the Vice-Chancellor - ‘Book of Abstracts: 1994–2014’ and ‘Grass Root Innovations in Nagaland 2015’.
