NEW DELHI, May 19 (NEPS): Nagaland Minister for National Highways and Mechanical, Nuklutoshi while formally opening the Court Commissioner Office of Justice RB Mishra, Retd Judge at New Delhi today asked the latter to look into a PIL filed regarding the ongoing Project for cConstruction of two laning roads from (i) Mon-Tamlu-Merangkong, (ii) Longleng-Changtongya, (iii) Phek-Pfutsero, and (iv) Chakhabama-Zunheboto under (SARDP-NE).
It may be noted that Justice RB Mishra, Retd Judge was appointed as Court Commissioner by the Court to “oversee the execution of contract works, to ensure transparency, to instruct the respondents, i.e., MoRTH, PWD (NH), Nagaland and the Contractors (JV) M/S IL&FS (earlier Maytas) – Gayatris (JV) and to complete the work within the stipulated time of eighteen months.
Nuklutoshi said that even though the Court had directed the respondents to restart the work, the project was stalled due to “technical problems.” He explained that the project has been abandoned for almost three years owing to none finalization of Revised Estimate .
The Minister requested the Court Commissioner to issue notices to the respondents including the State “in the interest of justice.”
Justice RB Mishra meanwhile assured that he would immediately take charge and make sure that the directive of the Court was compiled after considering the action taken reports of the respondents after passing the Judgment and Order.
