NUSU KC (M) dissolves tribal unions within Campus

Kohima, April 10 (MExN): The office of the Nagaland University Students’ Union Kohima Campus, Meriema- NUSU KC (M) on March 27 conducted general meeting in Campus headed by Thongo Khenpong Konyak, President, NUSU, KC and Imkongmenla Longkumer, General Secretary NUSU, KC.  

During the meeting, Dean of different departments, tribal heads and students took active participation and with in depth deliberation, the Union has concluded with a decision to dissolve the tribal unions functioning within the Campus. “For the good will of the students, for the University and for better and United Future we took this bold decision. We also felt tribal Unions as it gives room for Tribalism and hampered the academic schedule,” stated the Union in a press release.  

It also informed that all the tribal heads signed a pledge to close down all offices of tribal union and to come under one umbrella i.e, NUSU (KC) (M). “We the Union also implores the Apex Students body to ponder upon the existence of Tribal Unions in colleges that whether it give positive or negative impact upon the Students academic career. Henceforth, from 27th March 2017 no Tribal Union shall exist within NUSU (KC) (M),” the release concluded.
