Dimapur, June 1 (MExN): The Nagaland University Students’ Union, Lumami held an election on May 26 at I Ihoshe Kinimi Hall, Lumami where a new team of office bearers for the tenure of 2017-18 were elected.
The new team is lead by Chumseli Anar as President and Esther Lohe as the General Secretary.
Meanwhile, under the theme, “Adventure Awaits,” the 20th Valedictory ceremony of the Union was held on May 31 with Vice-Chancellor Nagaland University Prof. Pardeshi Lal, as the Chief Guest.
Speaking on the theme, Lal encouraged the outgoing students to start with determination and march forward with confidence towards achieving their goal. In order to reach our goal, one must be ready to accept challenges and never give up, he added. The programme was chaired by T Lemteshi of Geography department and invocation by Grace Thyü, President of Evangelical Union, Lumami.
The welcome address was delivered by K. Chumseli Anar who he also wished the outgoing students best of luck in their future endeavours. Chubalemba B. Chang, the outgoing President also spoke on behalf of his executives, Bonoka of 4th semester presented a speech on behalf of outgoing students.
It concluded with a special prayer for the students by Zhekiye Aye, Pastor Youth, Lumami Baptist Church, a NUSU (L) press note informed.
