The NUTA accepts the public apology of Dr.E.Renphamo Lotha published in the Nagaland Post ,dated the 29th September 2010.However, his action has been viewed with great seriousness and the NUTA will not hesitate to move for legal recourse against any further defamation from people who support corruption and corrupt officers including Vice Chancellors ,who have destroyed this university.
We have learnt from reliable sources that Dr.E.Renphamo Lotha’s defamatory article “Peaceful Co-existence of Nagaland Central University” was written, while he was a guest at the Nagaland University Guest House at Lumami in September 2010. It is even more questionable that Dr.E.R.Lotha’s defamatory article against University teachers and Naga scholars was also typed by the steno of the Vice Chancellor Prof.Kannan, in the office of the Vice Chancellor, Nagaland University at Lumami and we have witnesses to prove it. Therefore, he cannot claim to have written the biased defamatory article in the interest of the so called “suffering public.” when in reality, it is the university teachers, employees and student community who are the victims of inefficient and corrupt administration under Prof.K.Kannan. Nor will such an inflammatory, biased and defamatory article bring a solution or peaceful co-existence to this University.
