NUV community holds a special prayer during the 58th Foundation Day of the Naga United Village on February 7.
Naga United Village, February 7 (MExN): Naga United Village (NUV) celebrated its 58th Foundation Day with prayers, cultural performances and community activities, reflecting unity and tradition among residents.
The commemorative programme began with a prayer led by the Nagaland United Village Baptist Church, marking the occasion with thanksgiving and reflection on the village’s growth over the past five decades. The celebration featured special musical presentations by the Zuve Cultural Group, Ao Baptist Arogo and the Women Society, highlighting the cultural diversity of the village and underscoring the role of faith and unity in shaping its identity.
Village Chairman Reyopoyi Nyekha delivered greetings to the gathering. In his keynote address, Head Gaon Bura Mase Mero reflected on the village’s 58-year journey and called upon the younger generation to uphold the values of hard work, harmony and unity laid down by the village pioneers.
The spiritual significance of the occasion was further marked by a special prayer offered by Rev Chungbam Phom, invoking blessings for the prosperity and well-being of the villagers. The formal programme concluded with a benediction pronounced by Pastor Khehoyi Assumi.
Following the formal session, residents took part in recreational activities, with a tug of war emerging as a major attraction. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from different sectors of the village, symbolising collective strength and solidarity.
