National Vector Borne Disease control Program, Kohima observed anti-malaria month.

Kohima, June 22 (MExN): National Vector Borne Disease Control Program (NVBDCP) Kohima observed anti-malaria month at Jakhama, Chiephobozou, Tseminyu, Sechu and Chunlika block during June month. It was held under the theme ‘time to deliver zero malaria: invest, innovate, implement.’ 

A press release by DVBO, Dr Kevilhoulie Meyase informed that various activities were conducted at seven villages in seven blocks from Kohima district and similar nature of activities to be held at few more villages under Kohima district.

Malaria Technical supervisors/surveillance worker and ASHAS from various block conducted the activities along with District Consultant, Assistant Malaria officer, Malaria inspectors and vector Borne officer such as advocacy and dissemination of IEC materials, proper usages of LLIN i.e. mosquito nets campaigns, social mobilisation activities through PA system. 

Public were made aware of waste management, prevention of water stagnation apart from free malaria test were undertaken. No malaria cases were detected during the screening test of malaria, it stated.
