NVBDCP Wokha district review meeting held

Wokha, August 21 (MExN): The district review meeting of National Vector Borne Disease Control Programme (NVBDCP) Wokha was held on August 21 at Chief Medical Officer’s conference hall here.  

Dr. Robin Lotha, Chief Medical Officer (CMO) and Dr. Zuben Kikon, Deputy Chief Medical Officer (Deputy CMO) in the meeting highlighted the importance of surveillance of field workers and timely reporting for early and prompt treatment, informed a press release from Dr. Zathung Lotha, District Vector Borne Officer (DVBO), Wokha. They also stressed to apply ‘No Work No Pay’ principle. Dr. Zathung, the DVBO and Wezolo Medo, DVBD Consultant meanwhile highlighted the malaria scenario of the district and the positive impact seen during the year with decrease of the malarial cases from 39 in 2017 to only three cases so far this year.  

The usage of Long Lasting Insecticidal Nets (LLINs) was emphasized and the staffs were asked to disseminate the information of Do’s and Don’ts to the citizens and give awareness about the diseases and its reduction for behavioral changes to be seen so as to achieve the target of National Elimination, the release added. The staffs also spoke out their grievances and discussed to work out the problems faced.
