ANSAM: The All Naga Students' Association Manipur (ANSAM) said today that the journey of the Nagas towards “our glorious future for self determination within God’s given soil is always challenging due to various trammel political policies primarily moved by the adversaries”.

In a statement, ANSAM said, “At the backdrop of the state repressive policies for scrapping Free Movement Regime (FMR) and construction of border fencing amidst Naga homeland, the Naga people under the aegis Naga Students' Federation (NSF), a 'Reconnaissance Mission' was launched against the state’s sinister policy program covering Chandel and Ukhrul districts from October 21, 2024 to safeguard ourselves and the inherent rights over homeland as one family-free people”.

ANSAM was mentioning the demise of the TMNL leaders in an accident on Thursday. “Today, we are rippled with sorrow by the tragic loss of our two beloved brothers who have made their supreme sacrifice for the cause of the people while on the journey of 'Reconnaissance Mission' under the banner of Naga Students’ Federation on  October 24, 2024”, it said.

The ANSAM said that these leaders were on a Naga national movement mission of great significance, fulfilling the all of the Naga Students’ Federation (NSF) for safeguarding Naga homeland, breaking barriers and shadow lines in Nagalim to Chandel and Ukhrul district of Manipur being anointed by God as a high spirited, committed and responsible leader to raise concerns against the scrapping of Free Movement Regime (FMR) and imposed order for border fencing to further divide the Nagas at the arbitrary boundary between India Nagas and the Mayanmar Nagas by the Government of India.

“Their dedication for the Nagas, vision for better tomorrow, commitment for people’s movement and supreme sacrifices to the cause of our people will be written in the history of Nagas and forever be remembered by the generations,” it said.

The ANSAM, “with deepest sympathy”, said it stands in solidarity with their families, Tangkhul Youth Council, Tangkhul community and the entire Naga community at large in Nagalim. “We pray that God grants strength to their loved ones to bear this irreparable loss and may their souls rest in eternal peace”, it said.

The ANSAM prayed for the speedy recovery of Mingyao Raising from Theiva village.
