Dimapur, October 14 (MExN): In regard to ‘AKIDA responds to NVCO, AKMWP allegation,’ the Nagaland Voluntary Consumers’ Organisation (NVCO) stated that it had only questioned the state government particularly the District Administration on the shortage of Liquified Petroleum Gas(LPG) with an appeal to understand the huge gap between demand and supply, that the NVCO had not pointed out the LPG distributors of Kohima, and that it was never aware of its existence – All Kohima Indane Distributors Association (AKIDA).
The NVCO further stated that it was happy to learn that the LPG distributors of Kohima were ever ready to support any legal action against such black marketers if caught. The NVCO also suggested that it would avoid huge rate of ‘Black Marketing’ if the distributors put more effort of carefulness at their counters while distributing the LPG filled cylinders to make sure that distribution is given to the genuine consumers only.
The NVCO further said that black marketing is easily available and at times the consumers are compelled to look for it when they don’t get it at all at the distributor counters with gas card. It is understood that shortage of LPG supply this time is due to road blockade of NH-29 as a result of natural calamities. However, on earlier days too, shortage was common and the citizens who queue up for long hours has become a tradition, it added.
