Savi stated that most of the filled LPG cooking gas cylinder was found short of weightage where the correct net weight should be 14.5 kg but was weighing only 10kg to 11kg.
As per press & media cell, NVCO in a press release, the NVCO learnt of the shortage during the conduct of consumer awareness campaign at Pfutsero where the public of Pfutsero insisted to weigh the filled LPG cylinder before handing over to the consumers.
The release stated it detected most of all the filled LPG cylinder were found to be weighing only 10kg to 11kg which should be 14.5kg and for which the public had sent back the short weighment of LPG to the Plan Manager with a letter to rectify it.
In this regard, NVCO requested all the District Administration to take up necessary action in its own jurisdiction and the state government to check the plan at the earliest.
Savi asked the consumers to insist on weighment so as not to be cheated by the agents. The resource persons said that the state government continually fails to address the human rights issues pointing out that the state government was yet to set up State Human Rights Commission in Nagaland.
Hunger, rape, murder, human trafficking, poverty, child labor etc are the greatest enemy of human rights, according to NVCO.
The National Food Security Act 2013 was simply the fight against hunger and on the other hand – Right to Food, it added.
