NVCO for action on CAG report

Kohima, July 6 (MExN): The Nagaland Voluntary Consumers’ Organisation (NVCO) has appealed to the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) of Nagaland Legislative Assembly to do justice to the Comptroller and Audit General (CAG) report to promote social justice towards economic development in Nagaland.

According to the NVCO statement on July 5, every year misappropriation of huge crores of rupees is detected in the CAG report tabled before the session of Nagaland Legislative Assembly, “but no action is seen in the court of PAC.”

The NVCO questioned why the present PAC is yet to consider the adoption of pending reports of PAC on the CAG reports for the year 2012-13 and 2013-14.

It also raised questions on cases mentioned in the CAG report placed before the 13th Nagaland Legislative Assembly.

NVCO President Kezhokhoto Savi, Advocate who is also Member of the State level Audit Advisory Board, CAG said that even in the past, similar CAG reports were placed before State legislative Assembly and the Public Accounts Committee consisting of legislators to take up the matters but no results were seen or heard by the public.

It also made note of the Governor RN Ravi’s letter which had mentioned the CAG report ending March, 2018.

In this regard, the NVCO appealed the present Public Accounts Committee of Nagaland Legislative Assembly to do justice to the CAG report.
