The felicitation programme for the triumphant team Nagaland at the recently concluded 9th National Traditional Wrestling & Pankration Championship 2021, held at Goa from October 30 to 31, took place here at Hotel Japfü on November 6.
The Nagaland Wrestling Association (NWA) felicitated the wrestlers who won 20 Medals (10 Gold, 7 Silver and 3 Bronze) with cash and certificate.
Dr Hiabe Zeliang, President, NWA in his presidential note congratulated the champion and hero for their great achievement for making the NWA and state proud.
NWA general secretary, Vilekho Bio said in the history of NWA this is one of the best performances. Overall at the National level Nagaland state got 5th position behind Maharastra, Manipur, Goa and Tamil Nadu. He also appreciated the team led by NWA Technical Secretary Mitwatei Hebwang and Women Coordinator Kudukholu D. Vadeo as official supervisor, Keduovilie Zumu as Team Coach while Surhoneyi Soho officiated the belt wrestling as Referee.
A short speech was delivered by Mosonyi Domeh, vice president, AITWPF. Earlier, the felicitation programme starts with invocation prayer by Rev Phomlee Van, Pastor, Phom Baptist Church Kohima while of thanks was proposed by C Theyo, Publicity Secretary, NWA.
