Kohima, November 20 (MExN): Nagaland Wrestling Association (NWA) has extended invitation to all bona fide units and individual wrestlers from all districts of the state for the upcoming Nagaland Senior Free Style Wrestling Championship 2022 on November 25 at Indira Gandhi Stadium, Kohima.
This was stated through a press release issued by C Theyo, NWA press secretary who further mentioned that the championship is slated to begin on November 26 at the same venue. Pohwang Konyak, Advisor, Fire & Emergency Service, SIRD and Relief & Rehabilitation Nagaland has be invited as the special guest for the opening ceremony while K Puro, former vice president, Wrestling Federation of India will be the guest of honour.
Theyo noted that the weight categories for men will be for 57 kg, 61 kg, 65 kg, 70 kg, 74 kg, 79 kg and 50 kg, while for women it will be set at 53 kg, 55 kg, 57 kg, 59 kg. Weight measurement as well as entry registration will be held on November 25 from 2:00 PM till 4:00 PM.
The winner in all categories shall represent the state at the forthcoming National level to be held in the month of December 2022.

Meanwhile, the NWA expressed its happiness over the achievement of the wrestlers from Nagaland in the recently concluded North East Olympic Games 2022 held at Shillong, Meghalaya.
