NWA officials and Naga wrestlers with WFI officials on December 15.
Kohima, December 15 (MExN): A 17 member team of the Naga Wrestling Association (NWA) successfully participated in the WFI National Wrestling Championship 2025 held at Ahmedabad, Gujarat from December 12 to 14 December.
Earlier, they had undergone a month-long training in Freestyle Wrestling and Greco Roman Wrestling from November 11 to December 9 at the National Wrestling Academy, Nandini Nagar, Gonda, Uttar Pradesh.
NWA joint secretary Kuzhovesa Soho informed that the performance of the Naga wrestlers was found quite satisfactory and the NWA expect that they will do well in the upcoming championships.
The wrestlers were from Angami, Chakhesang, Lotha, Rengma and Pochury community of Nagaland with 12 Men and 5 Women.
With the culmination of the championship, the team will be leaving Ahmedabad on December 15 and is expected to reach Dimapur on December 19.
The NWA acknowledged all wrestling lovers for their support in different forms and further appealed the Nagas to uphold the team journey in prayer.
