NWA team before their departure for 13th AITWPF national championships on January 8.
Kohima, January 8 (MExN): The Nagaland Wrestling Association (NWA) team today departed for Goa to participate in the 13th AITWPF National Championships scheduled to be held from January 9 to 12 at Mapusa Goa.
The team will participate in Belt Wrestling. Naga style wrestling is also being introduced in this Championship as a main competition discipline.
This is the first time that Naga wrestling is being introduced at the National level which is a historic moment for Nagaland Wrestling Association and all the wrestling fraternity of Nagaland.
The Association extended its heartfelt gratitude to All India Traditional Wrestling & Pankration Federation (AITWPF) for introducing Naga Wrestling at the National Level.
The Association also extended its gratitude to the Government of Nagaland and Department of Youth Resources & Sports for the support in making this historic moment possible.
