NWHD organise NRDWSA seminar

DIMAPUR, FEBRUARY 22 (MExN): Naga Women Hoho, Dimapur as part of the National Rural Drinking Water and Sanitation Awareness Program organised a seminar at Dhansiripar, Dimapur on February 22. According to a press release, the program was sponsored by the Nagaland PHE department and saw participation from women leaders representing Dimasa Women Union, Sumi Totimi Hoho, Self Help Groups, Village Council Dhansiripar Block, Youth Organisation Dhansiribar, and WATSAN.

The release stated that NWHD president, Hukheli T. Wotsa while delivering the keynote address outlined the importance of clean water for the survival of the human race. Stating contaminated water as a major cause of ailments such as typhoid, dysentry, cholera, diarrhoea, the release quoted Wotsa as stating that clean drinking water is a must for the health of the community.  Ruby Kent, finance secretary, NWHD, spoke on sanitation, it was added.

While lauding the PHE department for initiating the programme, the NWHD, in the release called for a change in mindset “so that our state may become one of the cleanest state in India.”
