DIMAPUR, APRIL 13 (MExN): The Nagaland Zeliang People Organisation (NZPO) today stated that “any important issue on the Zeliang peoples’ behalf must be rooted through the NZPO.” A press release from the NZPO informed that it held a coordination meeting on April 11 at Jalukie town, and stated that the members present deliberated on the recent imbroglio of the Naga Mothers Association (NMA) with the tribal hohos. “Members present appreciated many good deeds done by the NMA in the past,” the NZPO stated. It said that “seat reservation for women in the Urban Local Bodies may be kept if necessary but 33% reservation and taxation is just a copy paste of the Parliament Act, which is not acceptable.” It meanwhile expressed surprise to learn that the “NMA desperately clings on to the four minor tribal women organizations namely Rengma, Pochury, Kuki and Zeliangrong Mipui when other major tribes forsake them.”
