NZPO temporarily suspends blockade of Kiyevi village

DIMAPUR, AUGUST 13 (MExN): The Nagaland Zeliang People Organisation (NZPO) and the CSOs of Peren district have decided to temporarily suspend the blockade of Kiyevi village.

A press release from the NZPO informed that this decision was taken upon receipt of the Nagaland Commissioner's letter assuring that “all the related matters and grievances of CSOs leading to indefinite blockade have been considered and also putting on hold whatever compensation to be paid to bogus claimants of residents of the erstwhile Kiyevi Village.”

It said that the NZPO and the CSOs expect the Government of Nagaland to work on its assurance. Failure to fulfill the assurance on its demands by the State Government, the NZPO and the CSOs will resume the democratic means of protest again, it stated.
