NZPO withdraws from TPO presidential order

PEREN, JULY 13 (MExN): The Nagaland Zeliang People Organisation on Saturday announced its withdrawal of signature appended on “Judgment and Order of TPO Presidential Council on the land (Forest) dispute at Kezoltsa/Kozuru/Kozing.” In a letter addressed to the President, Tenyimi People’s Organization, the President of NZPO, Kevipele Iheilung said he attended the meeting in good faith and under the impression that the “Position Paper” was submitted only by the Mao Council, SAPO and Maram Khullen.

“However, it was only after the judgment was pronounced and my signature appended that I cam to know Ze/Yangkhullen villagers had also submitted their claim within the demarcated area some years back and they have met even you personally and briefed you about their claim, whereas Ze/Yangkhullen village issue was silent in our meetings,” the NZPO president stated.  “Therefore I am here by withdrawing my signature from the judgment and order of TPO Presidential Council on land (forest) dispute at Kezoltsa/Kozuru/Kozing as I cannot sacrifice the interests and rights of the Zeliangrong people due to my ignorance and innocence in this regard,” the letter read.
