NZPO & ZMO-N urge Nagaland Govt to resolve doctors’ superannuation issue

DIMAPUR, NOVEMBER 2 (MExN): The Nagaland Zeliang People’s Organization (NZPO) and Zeliangrong Mipui Organization-Nagaland (ZMO-N) has urged the Nagaland Government to resolve the issue of superannuation age of medical doctors in the State “before the situation get out of control.”

A joint statement from the two organizations pointed out that there are difficulties being faced by the public for availing health services due to the ongoing NIDA strike.

“Right to Health is a basic need and it is the responsibility of the government to deliver justice to Health Care Providers and ensure availability of smooth health care services in the entire state. In the event of the situation getting worst or cause mass suffering due to failure of addressing this grave issue on time; the government may need to face the consequences of delayed attention,” it stated.

It is pertinent that the genuine demand of the NIDA be considered in-line with other states in the country to meet the need of acute shortage of senior and experienced doctors in the state, the organizations added.
