A new service based hotel/apartment called the Oak House was officially opened on January 12 during a programme held at its premises in Bank Colony, Dimapur. The event was graced by Geoffrey Yaden, founder and Editor-in-Chief of Nagaland Post as the special guest.

In address to the gathering, Yaden mentioned that over the years Dimapur has grown substantially through innovation and creativity brought on by entrepreneurial driven youths. But in order to attract more people from outside to visit the state, it requires peace and stability to be guaranteed at all times.
“All of us we want a society that is prospering,” he said and for which it is the responsibility of the people to provide the conducive atmosphere to do so.

He also viewed that in any given business venture, an individual should possess a clear roadmap and vision while focusing on the goal ahead.
In regard to the opening of the new building, Yaden regarded it as an interesting concept which will undoubtedly cater to the needs of the right customer.

Tovi Jakhalu, owner and operations head of Oak House meanwhile shared that the building has 15 rooms in total with 5 suits and 10 double deluxe rooms. It also has a conference lounge for hosting bridal showers, birthday parties among others.

Oak House has an inbuilt café as well called, “Frespresso” for in house dining which provides contemporary cuisines.
In regard to the inspiration behind the name of the building, he said that ‘Oak House’ symbolises integrity, strength and durability similar to an oak tree.
