Dimapur, July 12 (MExN): The Urban Vector Borne Disease Scheme (NVBDCP) Dimapur in collaboration with Dimapur Urban Council Chairmen Federation (DUCCF) will be observing anti-dengue month in July 2021, during which the Urban Vector Borne Disease Scheme (UVBDS) staff will conduct various activities.
In a joint press release DUCCF, President, Tsenthungo Nyamo and UVBDS, Assistant Director, Kikolul Khieya stated that awareness on dengue fever and control through miking in strategic or dengue prone areas will be conducted and also there will be entomological study on dengue vectors and the outbreak potential in selected colonies.
Larvivarous fish seeding will be distributed by the UVBDS staff at various locations. Public may also collect Larvivarous fish at UVBDS (old CMO Office Complex) free of cost during office hours.
Public are requested to carried out social work/individual family social work within their compound every Saturday till dengue season ends, where by public are advice to empty, removed/destroyed all disposable, unused materials, like Tyre, broken pot, can etc
The release also advised public to sleep under mosquitoes net (LLINs) during day and night times and to cover their bodies whole day especially during morning and evening.
